Training New Trainers (TNT) in Eindhoven, Niederlande

Right after the beginning of the new year the first TNT event within ESTIEM took place from January 5-8. On the first day the 15 participants got the chance to get to know each other and the trainers at dinner while having a beer. At the beginning of the second day it became clear to all participants that this was going to be a hard-working event! The three trainers Kajsa Olofsson (Local Group Linköping), Philipp Bächle (Local Group Karlsruhe) from ESTIEM and Hervé Tunga from BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) provided us with all the necessary knowledge to become a good trainer. Training session design, learning styles, feedback, logistics and even more were the topics.

At the end of the day we all had the task to prepare a training session in groups of two or three. Some of us used the night for preparation or showed up early the next morning to finish in time. For me this meant designing a training session of four hours on leadership for the ESTIEM board. After presenting the training schedule to the group, one part of the session was picked and we were supposed to prepare and deliver a half hour training on that to the other participants. No easy task in three hours! At the end of the third day all training sessions were delivered and taped so that we could get feedback from the other participants and trainers. Although being quite nervous all trainings went well and we all enjoyed delivering and participating in each other’s trainings. The third day ended with pizza and partying at Stratumseind, Eindhoven’s famous bar street. After a brunch on the next morning, we proudly received our trainer diplomas from the three trainers.

Now we are all looking forward to deliver trainings all over Europe!
In high ESTIEM
